Lack of exercise and activity can lead to aging too fast and stop you from living a healthy and long life. When you don’t exercise regularly you are more likely to feel tired much of the time and also find it difficult to sleep at night.
When you wake up in the morning, you may feel exhausted and fatigued all day until you finally fall asleep exhausted while watching TV at night or even while driving your car which of course can be very serious. As you age your body changes and you have to make changes to your life style to accommodate this.
Enjoying a good night sleep makes the mind work more effectively and helps you make decisions more easily and effectively. A good night’s sleep also helps you feel more energetic and this can also help control your body weight. You can also make your decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system more effective and this help to keep us healthier.
Aging Experts, Doctors and Health Researchers have all show that a good night’s sleep is vitally important to having a healthy body. It has been found that a lack of sleep affects the growth hormones in your body which can lead to muscles becoming weaker and the body is becoming fatter. Truth is sleep is pretty much essential for healthy living but equally important if not more so is exercise. One great way to get exercise is to take a daily walk.
Taking a daily walk can works miracles for you and your body. It helps give you strength, builds up muscle and is great way to cope with the daily task life throws at you. This helps you feel much less stressed and avoid depression and anxiety. The fact is not only will you feel better during the day but you will also sleep more soundly at night.
When you decided to exercise on a regular basis you’ll find your sleep patterns will also improve. In addition you help your body metabolism perform at its best. If you don’t exercise you will find your body is constantly trying to find extra energy it lacks. The body metabolic system works by releasing either glucose or insulin in to the blood and if the body does not have sufficient exercise or sleep it tries to compensate which can lead to significant weight gain.
Being tired and worn out is no joke and the last thing on your mind when you feel that way is exercising. But lack of exercise and avoiding activities which make you feel energized can lead to you becoming apathetic and unmotivated. Getting a good sleep is crucial and your body will love you for it. Not only that you’ll be fired up for the day ahead and look forward to exercise as a stress release method.
What you should be looking to avoid:
Your body needs good quality sleep to function properly so I recommend that you try and cut down on products containing caffeine, tobacco products containing nicotine, the use of toxic chemicals in the home and at work. In addition where possible take prescriptions drugs only where absolutely needed and take care when using over the counter medications. Most of these products contain chemicals which stimulate the body making it harder to get to sleep at night.
You should try and stop drinking any kind of soda’s, juices and hot beverages which contain caffeine after 8pm. Some people find that a cup of warm milk helps them sleep. You should also try not to smoke after 8pm and ideally start taking measures to help you quit smoking all together.
Organize a daily walk in the mornings which will encourage your body to wake up, and boost it with energy. This will make you feel better overall, as well is improving your general mobility as your joints will ache less and be more flexible.
There are several additional benefits not least you’ll be able to keep up with youngsters half your age. Plus of course you’ll remain trim as one good thing about exercising is as well as helping your body stay young it will burn off those calories as well. Now that’s a added bonuses isn’t it?
If you are new to walking for exercise I recommend that you don’t over do things it is all to easy to cause injury or worse if you push to hard at the start. Walking should leave you energized not collapsed on the sidewalk. Remember build up slowly and slowly and you won’t go far wrong. A added bonus of all this extra walking is your digestion will work better, you’ll enjoy your food more and you’ll also sleep soundly at nights. Oh and I nearly forgot it can help your relationships as well as you’ll want a great way to use up some of that new found energy won’t you?
So you’ve made the decision to start a program of walking but it can been really boring on your own. Why not ask a girlfriend or boyfriend along as well. You’ll be able to chat about things while you work on keeping your body healthy and staying younger.
After a brisk walk make sure you cool down and relax afterwards for a few minutes. Trainers of athletes refer to this period as the cool down or warm down. When walking at a steady up tempo pace your heart rate will increase and this time will give it chance to get back to normal. Just slow down and relax until you’ve cooled down and your heart beat is back to normal resting rate.
When you find you can’t sleep and your mind won’t relax after a busy day instead of getting up and turning on the TV. Sit in a arm chair and do some gentle stretching exercises maybe listen to some relaxing music or meditate.
You’ll find if you take action rather than just ignore your body you will suffer less with the signs of aging and generally feel more energetic and invigorated.
