Internet Retirement
By Dr. Neli Stoyanova
Up til now I have written many articles about
the effects of stress on health,
and how coping with stress could
prevent heart attack,
type 2 diabetes
or even dementia. However, never in my wildest fears have I imagined that I would be writing about the effects of the global financial crisis on health, and in particular, baby boomers’ health. Baby boomers, or those born between 1945 and 1964, were supposed to have it all. They were educated, financially savvy, successful, and on top of the world. But here I am, writing not about the effects of
over-eating,
sleep deprivation
or
vacation deprivation
on health, but rather talking about how to get in financial survival mode without jeopardizing your health.

It was clear to me that baby boomers, like everyone else, needed to regroup and find alternative ways to compensate for the financial losses we suffered on the market, as well as find ways to secure some stable income after losing a job or due to early retirement.
With this in mind, I started paying more attention to my internet presence. I have used the internet to build a constantly growing health site for people over the age of 50, mainly by publishing articles on everything related to stress that may affect health and wellness. It has been a way for me to reach out to millions around the world. I have never considered it a source of income, at least not as a main source of income, until now.
Few years short of retirement, with job insecurity and growing fears of seeing retirement savings gone, I began to very seriously reconsider my internet options. This led me to ask several questions:
Is internet retirement an alternative retirement solution for baby boomers?
What does one need to do to get into internet retirement?
What does it require in terms of money, time, and skills to create a successful internet retirement?
Of course, I can only speak about my personal experience. Four years ago I was looking for a way to start publishing on the internet. I knew exactly what I wanted to tell people. I also knew that I wanted my extensive health and wellness experience to be shared on a large scale.
The problem was that I had no clue how to even build a single web page. Computer languages, band width, page design? Ha! I had no idea what all these foreign concepts were!
Well, I still don’t entirely, but I have over 450 articles posted on my site. I have readers from 75 countries every day and people thanking me for the extensive free information.
So, how did I do it?
Simple! I write what I want to say and SBI does the rest. I can't imagine an easier way to do this, and it costs less than a dollar/day, which includes the internet hosting, customer service and all the technical help you might need.
So for those of you who want to ride the internet retirement wave this is the time to build your internet presence. Do it before it's too late!
All you need to do is focus on your strengths, dust up your forgotten skills, or refine newly created ones, and be prepared to fight for your retirement money. At least this will depend on you and not on your stock broker. What I like most about
the folks at SBI
is that they are always there to answer my questions 24/7. Why not give it a try for free.
