Pay Attention to Your Body Message

By Amy Sherman, LMHC Are you paying attention to what your body is saying? Do you listen when it tells you you're working too hard, drinking too much, or putting on too much weight?

Your body has insightful things to tell you. It's important to pause, reflect on your life and how it feels--- and not let any more time go by without knowing how you'd like things to be this coming year.

Therefore, you don't want to negate any of the signals your body is sending you because it is a wealth of information. Of course, with this information, changes can be made:

1. Don't ignore the queasy feeling you get if you spend too much money on something you don't really need. It may be your higher self telling you to be a more cautious spender.

2. Don't ignore your pants getting tighter and your weight getting higher. It's a sign that you're losing control and need to be a more mindful eater.

3. Don't ignore your feeling of exhaustion at the end of the day. It means you're doing too much, too often. This stress may be harmful to your body, if you don't unwind and regroup.

4. Finally, don't ignore the aches and pains you've never noticed before. While not all pain indicates a major problem, it does, if things don't improve. Seek out medical advice since discomfort is the only way your body can tell you something is wrong.

Your body is constantly revealing insights to you, if you stay aware. Read the messages to gain important information that will help you remain healthier emotionally and physically. Perhaps the most valuable result of your awareness is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, whether you like it or not. Knowing is one thing, but doing is something else. The most successful people in the world are those who take action to make what they want happen."If you have something to do that is worthwhile doing, don't talk about it...do it." (George Biount)
